I am currently an moroccan international worker based in the US, on a F1 CPT (pursuing an MBA till 6/2026 while working), planning to settle back to Morocco after getting my MBA diploma. In the interim, I am concerned about 3 concerns
– Maximize startegies to invest my salary as an international F1 worker (on CPT pursuing an MBA)

I would like to understand my options for investment as a H1B holder in the US. I live and work in New York City. I am an Indian born Canadian citizen. I am interested in low-risk opportunities like a high-yield savings account by Wealthfront, and CDs by Bank of America. But I am not able to get clarity on which types of investments I am allowed to pursue as a H1B holder. I understand I am not allowed to open brokerage accounts, but what can I do in terms of stocks/mutual funds? I am not sure if I need regular counseling, so I am sending an inquiry first. I’m a Brazilian preparing to migrate to U.S in the next 4 years. I’m currently work as Software Engineer as an contractor for Global Payments Inc. I’m getting paid in Brazil, meaning I don’t have immigration status that allows me to work in U.S. That’s why I need 4 years to get prepared for applying to permanent resident visa.

One of the pillars of my migration plan is retirement. I would like to start investing in U.S from Brazil as a non-US citizen, however I’m not sure about the best approach to do so. I’ve heard about applying for an ITIN number, which does sound interesting because I would be building credit score which is good for mortgage.
